Telepathy ----- mind-to-mind communication between two individuals under conditions
in which it is not possible for information to pass between them through the
physical environment using the five senses. Examples: having a hunch that a
specific person will unexpectedly call just before he or she does; dreaming
about a person and his or her problem although no one has told you about it.
Clairvoyance ----- conscious awareness of events or conditions that are (1) unknown
at that moment to all other minds and (2) removed from the individual to such
an extent that no information can be received about them through the environment
using the five senses. Examples: a psychic accurately stating where a lost,
ancient treasure is buried; Edgar Cayce accurately diagnosing an unknown physical
ailment in a person.
Precognition ----- conscious awareness of an event or condition before it happens
(in this case it should be something relatively unpredictable by logic). Examples:
guessing correctly many times in a row what number will come up on a randomly
tossed die; accurately predicting the exact score of a football game.
Psychokinesis (or PK) ----- to control or change a condition in the physical
world (apart from one's own body) using only the mind. Examples: moving an object
on a table using only thought; changing the nature of a solution of chemicals
in a flask using only thought directed towards it.
Psi ----- a shortened form of "psychic ability"; a term used to include
any form of ESP (telepathy, clairvoyance and precognition, among others), as
well as psychokinesis.
